Francesca’s Research Fund was set up in February 2015 in memory ofFrancesca Richardson a local girl.
Francesca had a 6 month battle with B-Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, which she sadly lost in January 2015 aged 9. Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma isa cancer of the lymphatic system and about 80 children of all ages develop it in the UK each year. Over 80% will have a full recovery.
The aim of the fund is to raise money that will be used to research why childhood lymphoma occurs by Dr Suzanne Turner and her team at Addenbrookes Hospital. So that hopefully one day in the future 100% of children will fully recover.
